Product Features:

One of the features that make our filter so efficient is the unique design and the internal wire frame (not in Trim-to-Fit model). Instead of an external plastic, aluminum, or cardboard frame that, unless it fits perfectly, allows air to bypass the filter. We use an internal wire frame, leaving a half-inch of extra material around the outside edges of the frame so that "bunches" up in the filter track to fit tight to form a self-seal. This forces the air to go through the filter rather than allowing it to go around it.
A second feature that adds to HIGH EFFICIENCY is a special sticky adhesive that is applied to the polyester fiber. This adhesive collects and holds micron- sized particles, which prevents them from re-entering your system and being re-circulated back into your home. The sticky adhesive is very effective in reducing allergy-causing pollutants that contaminate air; unfortunately, this feature is why the Purity is disposable filter. Washing it would destroy the special adhesive; vacuuming would only remove the surface dirt. (The dirt particles would remain trapped in the adhesive.)

Four Stages of Filtration:

The white fibers are looser retaining the larger particles.
The green fibers to catch the smaller particles.
A sticky adhesive traps and holds the small micron sized particles that are invisible to the naked eye and the antimicrobial destroys the bacterial spores, fungi, mold, and mildew on the media.
The activated carbon reduces household odors and smoke particles.

The polyester fibers are treated with an anti-microbial agent which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold spores, mildew, and algae on the filter media.

Installation:
Installation of the Purity is easy. Simply remove the old filter and slide the Purity in to filter track.

The air enters the filter through the green/white (light) polyester and exits the filter through the
black (dark) carbon. The green/white side will be the side that gets dirty;
the black side will be facing the fan/motor.

Activated Carbon is a form of charcoal in which millions of pores are created to increase the surface area to adsorb odors and toxic VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds). Air consists of various gases and both small and large particles, including various pollens such as ragweed, nettle, dust, smoke particles, bacterial spores, fungi, lint, etc. The majority of the pollutants are micron-sized and can not be seen by the human eye. The Purity Air Filter is treated with an anti microbial and a tackifier to enhance the performance and provide your home with cleaner air.

Some of the pollutants are known to aggravate allergies and irritate respiratory systems. Most filters are developed and recommended to protect furnaces/air conditioning systems motors and fans from accumulating dust and thus help protect manufacturers' warranty. These filters were not highly efficient in removing micron-sized pollutants, odors or smoke particles. Purity Filter was designed to prevent indoor air pollution by reducing pollutants and thus enhancing the quality of indoor air. The Purity Air Filter is a uniquely designed, true four stage filtration system that reduces dust, allergy-causing pollutants, smoke particles, odors, airborne microbes, fungi, spores, mildew and mold by trapping and collecting them on the filter media.
